On 28–29 September 2026, partners of the TRACE – Tracing Colonial Legacies in Climate Vulnerabilities project met in Braga, Portugal, for the project’s Kick-off Meeting, hosted by EducPro.
The meeting officially launched the 24-month CERV project and brought together six organisations from Portugal, Italy, Spain, Slovenia and Belgium. Partners discussed the project’s Work Packages, methodologies, responsibilities, timelines, ethics and youth participation, establishing a shared framework for the activities ahead.
A highlight of the meeting was an interactive workshop with around 20 students from Escola Profissional Profitecla, who explored the links between colonial legacies, social inequalities and climate vulnerability. Their ideas will contribute to the development of future TRACE activities.
The partners also visited the Braga Youth Centre, learning more about local initiatives promoting youth participation, inclusion and active citizenship.
The Braga meeting marked the first step in TRACE’s journey to connect history, climate justice and youth participation across Europe.
